A HISTORY OF WINE - Part 2: Agriculture, The Church & The Crowns
A HISTORY OF WINE - Part 2: Agriculture, The Church & The Crowns
January 5, 2025 3pm-5pm (Sunday)
Join us as we explore wine as it was used for diplomacy & trade. The rise of the Christian Church and then, the various crowns throughout Europe, established both a market and the supply that helped build cathedrals, establish territories, and keep humanity happy through some pretty dark ages. We explore & taste history during this seminar, learning about the areas and wines made famous by these two enormous historical forces.
Co-taught with Stéphane Vattepain, visiting resident Sommelier & Desta Marée Proprietor & Wine Director. Special appearances and invitations as well.
This is wine education, with wine tasting as a part of the exploration, but not the purpose of the seminars. These wines are not readily available on the market, most you will not be able to purchase for yourself, with some even directly imported for these educational purposes.
